The Root of Action: A Boot Camp for the Building Blocks of Acting
Objectives, Obstacles and Tactics. We know what they are. We know that every character wants something. We know it in our heads- where it often gets stuck. This class is a 90 minute workout to get back to clean, clear and urgent NEED. Using a succession of exercises, participants strip away the thinking and the contemplation and return to the body and the basics. Working as a group, and then in pairs, participants explore the simplicity of these most powerful building blocks, using the voice, the body and the gut to engage with what we want and getting it from the other character. The goal – inject some ferocity into your work, get raw and work to be in the moment. Listen. React. Get what you want.
